Jason found his passion in music as a late starter. He joined his brother and some childhood mates to form his first band, The Martins. However, after a very positive start, The Martins went the way of the Dodo and Jason started his second band, Griffin. Griffin achieved high rotation commercial radio play in the Canberra and NSW South Coast region with their two independent singles This World and Perfect Nightmare (the video clips to these two tracks airing on RAGE TV).

In April 2001, Jason took Griffin to the NEMO Music Festival and Conference in Boston USA, and to the FUSE Festival in Adelaide in 2004. In various band or solo acoustic guises, Jason supported acts including Pete Murray, The Androids, Evermore and Dave Graney.

In April 2005, Jason escaped the Canberra climate and moved to Brisbane, and established himself quickly in the local music scene. Since arriving in QLD, Jason has signed an international publishing deal (having several songs short-listed by major US acts and Hollywood music score selectors), and become a regular in the acclaimed fRETfEST singer-song writer showcase. He's also had several songs make finals of both the International Songwriting Competition, and the Q Music Song Awards.

Jason is currently working on his debut solo album (title TBA), working with ARIA-nominated Producer/Engineer Anthony Lycenko (long-time Producer/Engineer for Pete Murray), and musicians from The Stonemasons (Pete Murray's band) and George.

Maynard is a surprising performer worth catching live. His serious pop smarts were crafted at the altar of all things Finn, but are taken to an unexpected and interesting place with a little bit of country soul - reflective, sometimes gloomy, sometimes anthemic and joyous.
