The Big Jam

To launch the IMP we hosted the Big Jam, one of Brisbane's best music events of 2009. Jamming in the studio for 150 hours of continuous music, we attempted a Guinness World Record for the world's longest non-stop recording session with multiple artists - possibly the longest ever jam session! Beginning bright and early on Monday, August 31, musicians tag-teamed for just over six days at the Gasworks Studio before being transported to the Botanic Gardens Riverstage for the finale on Sunday, September 6.

It was challenging, exhausting and painful, but ultimately incredibly rewarding for all involved, resulting in more than 150 hours of recorded music, plus video footage and photos. The project not only created a melting pot of creativity and collaboration, but was also a microcosm for research.
