Drowning in-Synth in-Side

Well, first blog.

So hello to all. I won’t waste time in the generic blog beginnings apart from saying this…. I love synths.

Love em. I own about ten, and drool over the possibility of owning more everyday. My most recent purchase was a Korg R3. It took me a long time to decide which synth in the $800 – $1100 range would be best for me. I chose the R3 over other great synths such as the BloFeld, Akais new MINIAK, the microkorg, and of course the Alesis Micron. I chose the R3 because of the editor software that comes with it – it enables you to shape the sound waves with your eyes, instead of having to rely on number classically ranging between 1 – 127. The vocoder of course was another selling point. While it only has 16 bands compared to the microns 40, the korg again won over due to the speed and “ease-of-use” factor.Luckily for me, storedj.com.au just opened a new store in the Valley, and i got a great price on the unit (down to $980 from $1090) check them out, really great shop and everyone who works there is involved heavily with the Brisbane Music scene. www.storedj.com.au
