Bio 

Dead Shades are the type of band that inspire writers like Dan Gill to spew forth magnificent, Hunter S Thompsonesque prose to conjure up what the band might sound like if they've not yet trampled onto your musical radar.

Debuting their scuzzy garage blues rock at Byron Bay's Great Northern Hotel in February, the trio have since crashed a bunch of house parties with Velociraptor, played Paddington Fair, Valley Fiesta, supported the inimitable Black Cab, were showcased on a guerrilla Big Sound showcase and created buzz in their hometown and abroad.

The Brisbane trio were together for all of five minutes before heading into the studio with Skritch Trembles at the helm to produce their Sea Shandies EP. It's as if Dan Auerbach wrote songs for the Dandy Warhols. It's a little psychedelic and 60s rock rooted in the blues. It's grunge without the flannel. It's a neat little debut from a Brisbane trio who love a good shandy and a cranking tune, with stunning artwork by boutique Brisbane designers Harper's Got Milk.
